I’ve been writing and publishing, thus avoiding social media and criminally ducking my website duties. I feel guilty about that, but made great progress on the fourth Nicky Matthews Mystery (Sacred Ghosts) and the next De-Extinct Zoo Mystery (Ambushed).
Update 1: Signs: A De-Extinct Zoo Mystery
Signs: A De-Extinct Zoo Mystery (Book 2 in the series) was released on June 27th everywhere. Amazon, Kobo, Kobo+, Barnes and Noble, and Draft2Digital, which pushes the book to platforms all over the world, like Smashwords, Tolino, Scrbd, Thalia, Vivlio, Palace Marketplace.
Unmasked, Book 1 in the series, is FREE to download. Sign up for my newsletter to get it, but you can also directly download from Amazon, Kobo/Kobo+, Barnes and Noble, Draft2Digital… I’ve also put up a paperback for Signs, but only on Amazon, and am in the process on setting up one for Unmasked, too.
Update 2: Sting of Lies
Sting of Lies is the first book in a brand new series of mysteries called The Lies series. I am so close to the cover being done, I hope I can preview to my newsletter subscribers in a few days–comes out every month on the 9th. So sign up! This book should come out later this fall (September/October).
Update 3: Spirit Daughters a Daphne du Maurier Finalist!
Spirit Daughters, the third book in the Nicky Matthews series, was selected as a FINALIST in the prestigious Daphne du Maurier contest for Mystery & Suspense. This means the first book in the series, Hearts of the Missing, is a Tony Hillerman Prize winner, and the third book is a finalist in the Daphne. I love the stories in these two books, but I’ll let you in on a secret. The second book, The Third Warrior, is actually my favorite of the three. I am busy writing the fourth and final book in the series, Sacred Ghosts, which I hope to release next fall (2024).
Update 4: Have you of Shepherd.com?
Shepherd.com, an amazing book discovery site, has asked me(!) to contribute recommendations of the “best” books I’ve read that have had an impact on my De-Extinct Zoo Mystery books. You can browse by topic (e.g. genetic engineering, true crime, or “the best fantasy novels that sweep you to a strange place.”) You can search by author to read quick recommendation for books they believe are worth your time. Or you can search by a specific book to find what authors have to say about it AND to find similar books. This site is so much FUN to explore.
And I was very excited and humbled that they asked me to contribute, So far, I am one of over 8000 contributing authors, and the site is growing fast.
Check this site out. Totally worth your time. And once you’ve been there and explored, you’ll keep coming back. It’s that good.
